Middle District of Florida
The United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida is one of the 94 federal district courts in the United States, handling both civil and criminal matters. This court spans over 350 miles, from the Georgia border to southwest Florida, and is composed of 12 district judges, 17 senior judges, and 18 magistrate judges. The district covers 35 of Florida’s 67 counties, serving more than 57% of the state’s population. It has five divisions located in Fort Myers, Jacksonville, Ocala, Orlando, and Tampa, with the Clerk’s office located in Orlando. In 2020, a total of 10,324 cases were filed in this district.
