Mexican American Bar Association (MABA)

The Mexican American Bar Association of Los Angeles County (MABA) was founded in 1959 by Manuel Martínez and Antonio Bueno, who, along with a group of attorneys, established an organization to support Mexican American lawyers. Its original mission was to promote the inclusion of Mexican-origin attorneys in the judiciary. Over the years, MABA has grown and become dedicated to empowering the Latino community, supporting lawyers, law students, and judges through educational, civic, and philanthropic programs. Today, MABA continues to offer free legal advice, scholarships, and mentorship programs, as well as organizing educational events and promoting political participation.
